Eilat to build entertainment city
A $300 million project to erect the first Hebrew "entertainment city"
here is awaiting approval. It will offer visitors live show, a water
park like Sea World, a huge play area for children designed like Disney
World, spacious shopping and dining avenues, night clubs, a gold course,
sports and spas. It will be constructed east of Eilat on a land that
stretches north over 325 acres from the Red Sea to the Rabin border crossing
to Aqaba. There will be a Hawaiian style beach front of 75 acres.
There will be 65 attractions including a 7,500 - seat stadium built on the
water. Vacationers will have things to do and more of a reason to
stay, the planners state. They are discussing the taxes that will be
imposed on the project. Final okay is expected before year's end.
